5. Cello Wars (Star Wars Parody) Lightsaber Duel

Posted by The Piano Guys, this Star Wars duel of epic proportions puts a unique twist on The Imperial March, Duel of the Fates, May the Force Be With You, Star Wars Main Theme and Cantina Band. They originally found the idea for the song while editing another piece and editor Tel Stewart added lightsabers to Steven Sharp Nelson's bow in the outtakes. The fans wanted more and The Piano Guys delivered.

With appearances from both the light and dark side of the force and awesome music by talented musicians, this is one nerdy music video that you have to see and cannot afford to miss out on.

4. Game of Thrones Theme - The "Smooth" Version

If you have not heard of Postmodern Jukebox, then go check out our other article on the group to learn a little bit more about them and their vintage remixes of modern music (more video covers within). In celebration of the season premiere of HBO's Game of Thrones, Scott Bradlee decided to team up with the Grammy-nominated saxophonist Dave Koz to produce something that their nearly half million YouTube subscribers and other viewers would not soon forget. And we promise them, we won't.

3. Tonight I'm Frakking You

Made back in 2011, a geek fantasy comes to life when Matthew Brian Brown finds himself in a nerds fantasy nightclub. With guest appearances from Kunal Nayyar who plays Raj on The Big Bang Theory, Alessandra Torressani, the lead actress from Caprica, and Richard Hatch who played Tom Zarek on Battlestar Galactia, this was a sure-fire viral hit. The real question is, how many references to video games, TV shows, movies and other nerdom elements can you spot? Count all you can find in both the lyrics and video and then please let us know in the comments.

2. Lord of The Rings - The Hobbit (Piano/Cello Cover)

Also by The Piano Guys, this Lord of the Rings cover captures much of the beautiful music heard in the movies. Specifically, the video stars with the theme of the Elves and then moves onto the Ents, Rohan, Mordor, Isengard, Hobbits and finally Gondor. The Piano Guys described putting this project together as intimidating as they wanted to be sure to capture the epic nature of the story. Not only that, but this piece took much longer to put together than many of their other YouTube videos because they had to decide what themes to incorporate and how to make everything flow, smoothly. It appears that their hard work and effort paid off.

1. Zelda Medley

Lindsey Stirling is a master violinist extraordinaire, who has a wide variety of violin-techno mashups, including several nerdier videos such as this Legend of Zelda cover. Not only is her music incredible, but her use of environments for her videos, plus her talented dance and fun personality, makes Stirling's awesome nerdy music something at the top of the list and definitely something you will want to see. Check out her YouTube channel for more videos like this, including a cover of the Halo theme and also a Pokémon dubstep remix. Just for good measure, here is Stirling smashing a whole bunch of pots in the pot room from Ocarina of Time. You know the one.
